Professor Jaehee Jin received a B.A. in French Language & Literature from Yonsei University , an M.A. in French Classical Drama, and an M.A. in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language from Yonsei University . She received a Ph.D. from the Korean Language and Literature Dept. (TKFL major) at Yonsei University, in addition to participating in the Scholar Exchange Program at UCLA.

As a Korean teacher and as a researcher, she works actively in the TKFL field. She worked as a Korean language instructor at the Korean Language Institute at Yonsei University, and served as a Examination Item Development Committee member for the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) and later as an Evaluation Committee Member for the TOPIK.

In Japan , Professor Jin gave a special lecture for the project “Training Program for Language Teaching Experts” at Dokkyo University and participated in the “Penn-Kyunghee Critical Language Program in Korean Language” project in conjunction with the University of Pennsylvania . She has been working as a senior researcher at the Research Center for Korean as a Foreign Language (RCKFL) at Yonsei University.

Her publications include [외국인을 위한 한국어 수업 대화 분석] Oeguk’in ul uihan Han’guko suop taehwa punsok [Analysis of Conversation in Korean Classes for Foreigners ] (Seoul: Communication Books, 2006) and Survival Korean – Basic Grammar Skills , (Seoul: Nexus, 2007) co-authored with Stephen Revere, and multiple articles published in major research journals in the TKFL field. Her main research interests include Discourse Analysis, Conversation Analysis, Second Language Teaching and Learning Theory, and Sociolinguistics.
