(By 2/25) 2018 The Model World Trade Organization

2018-02-13 09:35

We are a team of students from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland in charge of organizing the yearly Model World Trade Organization. Since 1997, the conference has established itself as the biggest simulation of negotiations of the WTO in the world, with the participation of over 70 students and the help of a prestigious advisory board. The seven-day conference takes place in St. Gallen and in Geneva at the Graduate Institute and the WTO headquarters. During the conference, the participants will simulate WTO negotiations in different committees on the overall topic of "Investment facilitations" from the perspective of their assigned country. They will have the chance to speak to the missions of the represented countries as well as network with prominent WTO experts and diplomats. Attached to this email you will find a recommendation letter of Dr. Reto Malacrida, Counsellor at the WTO Legal Affairs Division, and lecturer of the MWTO course at the University of St. Gallen.

As the time has come to recruit new participants for the 2018 Model WTO, we would highly appreciate your cooperation in raising awareness of this event among the students of your faculty at the Kyung Hee International College, College of International Studies. It would be great if you could promote our conference amongst your students by forwarding my email, linking our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/modelwto2018/) or sharing it on your university's platform and printing our flyer.

We would also like to underline that the application deadline is on the 25th of February, 2018, and the event itself will take place from the 6th to the 13th of April, 2018 in St. Gallen and Geneva, Switzerland. Students interested in the conference can send their CV and Motivation Letter to: applications@model-wto.org.

We strive to have an event with diverse students, with the largest possible number of universities represented. This is why we would be very glad to receive applications from the Kyung Hee International College, College of International Studies.

More information on the weekly outline, the topic and the application process can be found on www.model-wto.org, on the Facebook page Model WTO (https://www.facebook.com/modelwto2018/) or the attached MWTO brochure.

We thank you for your help and stay at your disposal for any questions you may have.

With kind regards,
Tamara Halder
